Metal Gear Solid V : Phantom Pain - Identify the Screenshot 2

Hello gamers! Hope you are having fun with the Phantom Pain - one of the best games I've played in a while. I absolutely love its stealth gameplay and the mind-blowing level of details. Every time I play the game I discover how minutely every detail has been thought about, designed and accounted for. Although at the moment the free roam is not quite exciting, but the various mission areas are just fantastic. The detailing is so very realistic, practical and to the point. Nothing fancy here, just some realtime replicas of outposts and bases.

Another icing on the cake is its haunting soundtrack. Wow! In case you want to listen to it separately, here's the Youtube playlist for In-game soundtrack.

The tracks that I particularly found haunting are :

  • Track 62 - Evasion
  • Track 68 - Skulls (Before Spotted)
  • Track 73 - Afghanistan Caution 2
  • Track 102 - Afghanistan Day Enemy Suspicion
  • Track 108 - Exfiltrate the Hotzone (Success)
Let me know if I missed any other cool track.

Well, and for today's screenshot of the today, take a look below.

As expected, guess what's the location and the area of operation / mission. Drop in your comments guys.

Oh and in case you missed it, here's the link to MGS V : TPP : Identify the Screenshot : Part 1. Cheers!

Metal Gear Solid V : Phantom Pain - Identify the Screenshot

Hello Gamers! How's it going? These days am currently hooked to playing MGSV : Phantom Pain over the weekends. Its quite an exciting tactical shooter which obviously rewards stealth over mindless shooting. I particularly like its Base Management System which unfolds and unlocks new features slowly as per the progress of the missions.

Check out the screenshot of the day. It features one of the platforms of your Mother Base.

Can you guess which platform is it? Drop in your comments guys.

Metal Gear Solid V - Phantom Pain : Cloaked in Silence S-Rank FullHD Walkthrough

Guys, check out the High definition Hi-resolution walkthrough of Episode 11 : Cloaked in Silence of the blockbuster video game Metal Gear Solid V : Phantom Pain.

In this episode, you encounter the female Vanguard Sharpshooter "Quiet" in Afghanistan. It is usually triggered automatically when you pass a specific area [Aabe Shipaf Ruins] while going for the Stun-Arm blueprint Side Ops mission. You can either kill her or capture her and take to your Mother base. The choice is yours. If you capture her, you could use her as your buddy partner in future missions.

Tips and Tricks :

  • This mission is particularly difficult coz Quiet has a sharp sight. She spots you quickly and also does lethal damage to your health when hit. Use the stones and rocks as your cover as much as possible.
  • She also has invisibility powers and zips around pretty fast. Also note that although if you spot her with the Analyser, she is untraceable after a while and you lose her position. Stay sharp!
  • Keep moving around and don't stay at one place for long.
  • While spotting Quiet with the Analyser, keep checking the Mic volume to hear her humming a soft tune. This helps to pinpoint her location.
  • If you lose her sight, stand up or come out in the open for a few moments to identify the angle  from which she spots you. It's risky I know.
  • Once you spot Quiet, immediately draw your Sniper Rifle for a quick hit. Make sure you do it accurately within a matter of few seconds. Time is of essence here.
  • There are multiple ways of hitting her in either lethal or non-lethal ways, this video will focus on the traditional approach using only the sniper rifle.

Shibuya - The Modern Tetris

A few months back I had some real trouble concentrating well on things. A friend of mine suggested I play Tetris once in a while to help improve my concentration. Well, that's when I stumbled across this simple awesome game - Shibuya.

Shibuya Grandmaster is a modern day refined Tetris with the classic arcade look and feel. The objective of the game is very simple - match multiple blocks of the same color and take them out. But the game needs to be completed in 7 varying speeds. Though the game may seem extremely simple in the beginning, but gets really tough later. The speed list is as follows :
  • Slow
  • Normal
  • Adept
  • Fury
  • Reflex
  • Machine
  • Gentle Rain
The slow speed is the easiest while the Gentle Rain is really really difficult. The continually faster speeds challenge your reflexes and thereby helps improve concentration. You really need to plan fast based on the upcoming blocks so as to form pairs. You have to couple your concentration with quick adept planning to successfully complete the level in stipulated 2 minutes. All in all, its a beautiful game of concentration and planning, highly recommended to players of all ages.

Check out my gameplay of the Reflex Mode below to get a taster :

Contra video game for iPad

Guys do you remember the good old days playing classic games like Bomberman, Contra etc during the Atari & Sega console box days. I was recently so happy to see Contra ported to the iPad. I immediately downloaded it and have been playing it for quite some time now.

For those who are unaware of the game, please note that this is a classic side scrolling shooter action game. In fact it is so addictive, I bet you would play even while commuting or just lazying around the couch. A bunch of weapons goodies like the laser gun, SL gun, SH gun, power shield make for an interesting experience. Also with each new level, the difficulty gets increasing proportionally. Honestly, there's nothing pathbreaking in this game, but play it just for the good old shooting fun. Aah the vintage classics!

Check out a few screenshots here :) This will definitely make you download it.

Boxer - DOS games emulator for Mac OSX

Ever miss the classic DOS games of the 90's in the Windows era? Well, if you own a Mac, you can still play those classics on your machine.

Remember the first person shooters like Wolfenstein, Doom, Quake, Duke Nukem 3D or the side strollers like Bio Menace, Dangerous Dave, Prince of Persia, Aladdin or Lion King?

Well if you loved playing the above games, then BOXER is definitely the app for you. Period. Oh and by the way, it has nothing to do with boxing :)

Boxer is a beautiful DOS games emulator for Macs which is basically powered by the DosBox's emulation at its core.

DosBox can be separately installed on Mac, but many users might find it confusing and tricky to install it through Terminal. Boxer saves you those hassles. You don't need the technical expertise to run commands on the command line. All you have to do is download Boxer and the DOS games.

Now, if you're wondering where to find good old DOS games, please check out the following links :

Here's a quick simple walkthrough to use Boxer :

Once, downloaded simply open it to view the welcome screen.

Then go to any of the above DOS games sites and download the game. It usually might be a zip file.
Unzip it and click "Import a new game".

Now, all you have to do drag and drop the unzipped game folder into the dotted square as seen above. This will initiate the importing process. If the game has Install.exe as its installation program, it will be automatically selected at this stage.

Let's take an example of the Apogee Software's Bio Menace. You'll see the following screen once you drag-n-drop the unzipped folder.

It will automatically select the Install.exe. You just have to click "Launch Installer". In the next screen you'll see the actual installation process, as it would have happened on a DOS prompt.

In most cases, you just have to follow the default steps in general, to proceed with the installation.

The screen below shows that the games has been imported successfully and is ready to be played on your Mac.

At this stage, you can drag and drop any image or cover art for the game, to make it look attractive and identifiable on your game shelf.

Now, click "Launch Game". Sit back, relax and start playing :)

This emulator is similar to the Wine wrapper used to play Windows games on Mac OSX or Linux.
Also, if you click the Display tab in Boxer's preferences, you choose the type of rendering style as seen below.

Ok guys, am sipping on some Pepsi before the action begins. It's time to play Snake Logan and start shooting the dirty filthy alien monsters. Aaaaah I so feel like it's the 90's again :)

Bbye !
